Pulling on the Lead

Pulling on the lead

There is little more frustrating than trying to enjoy a walk when your arm is being pulled out of its socket. Fingers crossed that you don't run across another any dogs or cats on the way to the park! A lot of people are unaware of the message the dog receives when it pulls you down the road. Who's taking who for a walk?

Does your dog start to go crazy when you put on those special shoes reserved for walking? When you pick up the keys, the special jacket or the lead...

I have tried every dog training method before choosing the simplest and best way to get a dog to heel. There is only one winner, it is by a country mile and it doesn't involve you yanking the dogs head!

When working with your dog I will always show you the gentlest and most appropriate tool to train your dog. Very often with dogs walking on the leash it is the messages that you give the dog before you leave the house that are important and instrumental in changing your dogs behaviour.

Traditional dog training methods of jerking the dog backwards with a standard lead is a very slow process of getting nowhere fast. The dog does not understand what you want because the punishment is not informative. Pulling back on a dog will always make it pull forward and it will become a game.

The methods I use are simple, gentle on the dog and easy to use. Dogs respond in a matter of minutes.
